Inspiration can be found in simple details of life, in art for example. It is when we least expect it to fall on us, we can be moved by the beauty, the simplicity of an object or a landscape of color, which can give rise to an idea .
Inspiration is a very random thing. It can happen to you in your dreams, to appear according to a detail of life, a thing that touches you and that you want to transcribe in an artistic way.
Not having been trained, being self-taught is an opportunity in terms of inspiration because I am not formatted to the standards of the trade. Making jewelry is a passion, the inspiration of my creations comes from other interests. Among them, there is the obvious architecture that I could discover during the travels. History also occupies an important place, it comes to me from Mother. Papa was a science enthusiast who passed on his passion for this practice ... When I went to Paris, I went to the Musée de l'Homme as soon as I could. I have always been intrigued by the evolution of civilizations, techniques and knowledge ... There is evidently the region in which I live, where I grew up, which by its stories is a resource of infinite creation.
My inspirations are diverse. Some, like painting, go back to the time when I was at the Briançon high school. My interest in painting and the use of color was born when I was in 6th grade, while I spent my days contemplating a painting by Paul Klee, Castle. Hooked in front of me in the classroom, this painting, by its mixture of colors, its construction, its forms, is an aesthetic ensemble that left a strong mark on me.
In any case, we have never been able to follow trends.
I have always drawn to put my ideas on paper and so have some sort of reminder. But I am not a great draftsman, my sketches allow me to make emerge a first visual of the future creation.
Realizing a piece of jewelry requires a preparatory work of artistic creation. The beginning of the creation chain is the sketch; The first sketch is placed on paper, then we make a first 3D model where we can see from different angles the final piece. Little by little, by exchanging with the team of realization, the drawing will be refined, become more precise, to arrive at the first wax model. Sometimes I start again up to 10 times the model to have a result that suits me perfectly.
